ABOUT
In the beginning of 2018 we set out to build a home, our goal was to find land and work towards building a debt free home with our own hands. We didn't quite know where to start but we knew we needed to get debt free to accomplish any goal this large, so we first set out to do that. 2018 was filled with working as much as humanly possible to get completely debt free, it wasn't easy but after a year we managed to pay off all our consumer debt and save up enough by March of 2019 to purchase 4.18 undeveloped acre home site.It look most of 2019 to improve the land - culvert, land clearing, driveway etc. We spent over 20k just getting the land to that point. I had no idea all that went into just getting on our piece of land.
2020 we finally started building and making some visible progress. We thought we could build this huge house overnight and the reality of it was we wanted to move quickly and a smaller home was a better solution. So we planned to build a small modern cabin style barn so we can move to our property sooner. We still have dreams of building a huge house in the future but our focus is on our cute little barn house.
I found an person to draft my ideas for our cabin, I actually found her off etsy and she only charged me 40 dollars to come up with interior and exterior elevations. Below are the final plans and what we went off when building.
